Join our Southampton Oligonucleotide Production Team!

Key Responsibilities:
- Synthesis and purification of oligonucleotides.
- Preparation of small molecule starting materials as required.
- Operation and maintenance of Oligonucleotide synthesisers, purification equipment, including flash Chromatography, HPLC, PAGE and LC-MS. General laboratory equipment and materials including evaporators.
- Ensure accurate and up to date record keeping.
- Adherence to Health, Safety and Environmental requirements and safe operating procedures within a lab environment.
- Adherence to the Company policies and procedures.
- Manage inventory and ensuring sufficient stock levels for operations.
- Demonstrate continuous professional development, keeping abreast of new methodologies and techniques.
- General lab duties, including washing glassware, maintaining a neat and clean laboratory, changing gas cylinders, removal of waste (including chemical solvents).
- Provide entry level training to Associate Scientists and Lab Technicians.
Skills/Experience
- Degree in Chemistry or related discipline.
- Experience working in a high through-put chemistry laboratory.
- Experience in nucleic acid chemistry would be highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with HPLC, Mass Spectrometry and/or other analytical techniques. Experience working with Waters LCM systems would be highly desirable.
- Familiarity with ISO or other quality systems along with HSE requirements and safe operating procedures
- The successful candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-changing environment, detail orientated along with strong communication skills.
